amee has developed a free service, which is now available for all UK businesses on 31 January 2013. Any business in the UK can go to www.amee.com, find their company and use the free service to update information, compare their businesses to others and gain insight over time to risks/costs they face in the management of limited resources. Businesses can also report their environmental information in one place and eliminate the need for different reports each time they participate in a tender process.
amee is managing environmental data just like financial data. amee is managing a substantial database of all UK businesses. amee has sourced every available free public disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions. Just as companies report financials according to accounting standards, amee links its reporting to globally recognised environmental standards such the Greenhouse Gas Protocols (e.g., Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3). When environmental information is not available, amee estimates consumption and reflects our estimate in its ameeScore. The algorithms behind the ameeScore were developed by people who have deep knowledge; in both business information and the GHGP standards.
