The Near Eye Tool for Refractive Assessment (Netra-G), also known as the “EYE Phone,” is a state-of-the-art technology developed at MIT Media Lab that consists of a clip-on eyepiece and software app for smart phones. This technology replaces bulky diagnostic equipment allowing anyone with a mobile phone to administer an eye test which measures nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Users can even obtain a prescription for eyeglasses through the application.
