Ossian Agro Automation Private Limited is an organization dedicated to improving the process of irrigation, first in India and then globally. Created as a solution to irrigation problems, Ossian developed several affordable irrigation pumps that can be electronically controlled based on an alarm clock timer. Nano Ganesh is an electronic modem that enables farmers to regulate their irrigation pumps at any time through mobile phones. While computers are expensive, this remote is one quarter the cost, easy to operate and repair, and is suited to the needs of rural farmers with no age limitation.
Nano Ganesh is a solution to the various challenges for farmers operating water pumps, including shock hazards, night operations, wild animals, difficult terrains, distant locations, odd electricity, and expenses on pumps. Because farmers are unable to solve these problems on their own, a lot of irrigation systems are left on 24/7, wasting a lot of useful water. Using Nano Ganesh and an inexpensive mobile phone, a farmer can remotely check power availability, check the pump status, and turn the pump on or off. The ability to do this remotely solves these problems, while also saving water. Through the use of innovative technology, farmers conserve more water, electricity, food, fuel, and soil, which in turn protects the environment.
Ossian Agro Automation Private Limited is focusing on improving the conditions of farming and the lives of farmers who supply our food. While Nano Ganesh saves farmers money and time, forever altering their socio-economic status, it also serves to protect the environment. Soil erosion, droughts, and monsoons negatively affect farmers in India and around the world. In 2010, 2,000 Nano Ganesh devices saved 180,000 m3 of water, 1080MWh of electricity, 180 m3 of fuel, and 18 m3 of soil. Nano Ganesh protects the environment, creates business opportunities, generates employment, and betters the lives of producers and consumers.
