The Gender Equality Project Foundation (GEPF) works with large corporations to foster equal opportunities in the workplace by building a community committed to greater accountability in gender equality. GEPF’s best ambassadors are its seven pilot companies that worked with the foundation to streamline its approach, as well as the additional ten multinational companies that are part of its growing community.
GEPF has found that commitments to assist the growth of gender equality did not necessarily translate into actions. Further, GEPF discovered that what gets measured gets done; therefore, a comprehensive methodology to measure gender equality across organizations, industries, and regions was needed. GEPF developed a method to accelerate the movement towards more gender-equal workplaces and societies by relying on three pillars to aid in measuring gender equality in the organizations : metrics (allowing companies to monitor progress in closing the gender gap; community (exchanging best practices and benchmarking against peers; and reward (providing recognition for companies that achieved certain outcomes). Thus, GEPF has created the first global gender equality assessment and certification system that will allow organizations to strategically create better workplaces, sustain their talent competitive advantage, and deliver a positive impact to the bottom line.
GEPF hopes to have a positive global economic impact by working with companies to turn the talent, creativity and intelligence that come with gender equality into a business success. It also hopes to have a positive global social impact by promoting societies where men and women can find fulfillment in both the personal and professional spheres of their lives.
