Mika Sillanpää Senior scientist, Low Temperature Laboratory, Aalto University School of Science

(Tech.) degree from the Low Temperature Laboratory at the former Helsinki University of Technology. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at NIST in Colorado, US. He made experimental investigations on low-temperature nanophysics, in particular basic research on superconducting junctions. He received the Academy Research Fellow grant in 2009, and the ERC Starting Grant in 2010. He has been awarded the Young Scientist Prize of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (2011). Mika A. Sillanpää, D.Sc. (Tech.), has been appointed Professor of Physics (Associate Professor) at the Aalto University School of Science.
